Brian Glasser is Team Leader for The Apex Team-KC. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of Arizona. He is currently pursuing his MPA with a Nonprofit Management emphasis at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. Brian’s professional background includes seven years as a Captain in the United States Army where he served as an Intelligence Officer. After transitioning from the Army, he served as an HR consultant for Hallmark Cards, Inc. Brian’s passions include traveling, sports, and helping others through service. Brian is currently and/or formerly a volunteer with several organizations across the Kansas City core: Team Rubicon, Lead to Read-KC, KC Pet Project, Christmas in October.
David grew up in Sierra Vista AZ. Graduated from Dakota State University, in Madison, South Dakota, with a bachelors in accounting. David started as an offensive lineman for Dakota state and was a captain for 2 of the 4 years that he played. He enjoys a wide range of activities from playing video games, going to the gym and everything in between. David chose a career in real estate for the ability to help people achieve financial freedom.
Joe Messina was born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Growing up as a Air Force brat he moved 10 times throughout 3 different continents. He comes from a background of 3 years of Bar Management and brings great customer service as well as excellent communication skills when working with his Real Estate clients. Joe Messina attended the University of Central Missouri and earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies with a minor in both business management and marketing. His skills in marketing and business management give him a unique insight on how to bargain, protect clients, find the best deal, market properties, and help build wealth for his clients. Joe has served 5 years in the US Army Missouri National Guard and has been deployed to Qatar to help in the security of US personnel and equipment. Joe has been honored with multiple awards for his service. Joe has developed skills in leadership, teamwork, organization, and hard work from his time in the armed forces and has applied them to his Real Estate career. Joe entered the Real Estate world in order to become his own boss, start building his rental property business, provide better for his family, meet and create new relationships with more people, and help his friends and family get into the house of their dreams. Joe Messina lives in Kansas City, MO with his dog, Moose. He spends his free time lifting weights, traveling, shooting guns, and hanging out with his friends and family.
Brett Rounkles is a licensed Real Estate Agent with the Apex KC team. While young, he grew up working with his family cleaning the windows of the skyscrapers in downtown KC. He received his Associates degree in Intelligence Operations Studies from Cochise College and then went on to receive a Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Military Science from the University of Central Missouri. Brett Enlisted in the military as an Intelligence Analyst right after high school. He then received his commission into the United States Army Missouri National Guard as a Infantry Officer where he was afforded the opportunity to attend Ranger School. Since then, Brett has developed a passion for Real Estate Investing. He really enjoys helping others develop a plan to have a stream of passive income to prepare for retirement or just some extra cash flow on the side. He takes a lot of pride in the city he grew up in and loves to see the revitalization that is occurring throughout the metro in Kansas City. Brett spends his free time reading, working out and hiking some of the great scenery around the country.

Ben received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 2011. In May of 2014 he graduated from the University Of Arizona College Of Law, where he specialized in business formation/organization and tax law. He is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Arizona and has over 9 years of real estate investing experience. He has been involved in over 100 real estate transactions, with specialization in helping investors find great opportunities. As a founding partner of The Apex Team, Ben has taken the reins as team leader. He continues to develop his leadership skills to help team members identify and pursue their goals and dreams. When not working on business development, Ben still enjoys finding great properties for investors!
Chief Operating Officer
John is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Apex Real Estate Network where his core focus is on the management and growth of the business. Prior to joining Apex, John worked as a product manager for Microsoft Corporation and as an advisor for Apex Real Estate Network. John has a BS in applied mathematics from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jake Arnold is a real estate sales agent and property manager for The Apex Team. Jake ran track for the University of Arizona from 2002-2007 where he won two national titles in the Decathlon in 2006 and 2007. He then ran as a Professional Track Athlete until 2013 and was inducted into the University of Arizona Hall of Fame in 2012. Jake Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Retailing and Consumer Sciences with General Business and Communication minors. He has experience in real estate investments and managing rental properties since 2008. The drive that powered him to athletic excellence allows him to effectively assist people in buying or selling properties in Tucson.
Stephen McNair-Larese is our Lead Buyer’s specialist. He is a University of Arizona graduate where he majored in Translation and Interpretation, and minored in Teaching and Business Administration. He has a lot of experience with property management and working with investors to help them rent their homes for a profit. As our Lead Buyer’s Specialist, Stephen has helped many people become qualified to be able to buy the house of their dreams. A native of Southern Arizona David received his education in the field of Computer Science. After his studies he began his career in the Media Industry and earned over 15 years of experience. During his career he excelled in marketing, new media, publishing, design and public relations. This versatility saw him work and be promoted in various disciplines achieving the highest promotion to Publisher. Professionally managed print communication, marketing, new media, technology, graphics and earned various recognitions for contributions to the industry. After 4 years in David transitioned into leadership positions including Design Manager, Advertising Manager, Production Manager, Editor and Publisher. David was also named corporate board and consul of design operations for 32 newspapers. After his career in publishing David was a marketing consultant in Software Development and International Business Sectors.
David was also an active in non-profit sector and a volunteer. He was named President of the Lions Club for 4 years, Board Member Rotary International, Board Member at WIA SCC, Board Member SCC One-Stop, Board Member-SCC Community Food Bank, Board Member-SCC Cultural Committee, Board Chair SCC Boy Scouts. Organized: Holiday Clothing Program, Junior Olympics, Operation See, Eye Glass Project, Clean Our Highways.
Graduated from the University of Arizona in 2014 with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Rick went on to work as a defense contractor with STG company for the last few years in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He than came to work for the Apex Team in August of 2016 where he has masterfully taken to the position of transaction coordinator. His dedication to the team, and strong work ethic make him a great addition to the team, and the Apex family.
